AST Student Internship Summer Program-Deadline Extended

SUBMISSION DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO MAY 30th!  The Absentee Shawnee Tribal Health System is kicking off its inaugural 2017 Student Internship Program for AST Students from the surrounding service area.  We are very excited to be offering this program to AST Students who are seeking a future in a healthcare related field!    This will be a unique experience in which area Native American AST youth, 5 finalists who are selected, attend a rigorous 8 week program designed to orientate them to a variety of professions and technical careers in the healthcare field.  The program will begin 5 June 2017 and end 28 July 2017.   The program is advertised on the Absentee Shawnee Tribal website under “Employment Opportunities” located at:   All applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA, a desire to serve in any area healthcare field, and should submit their packages as per the instructions on the website.  Targeted ages are between 16-22 years of age (with high school students preferred or college/vo-tech students 22 years of age or younger).  We are excited to offer this new program to enhance the opportunities of these area students in seeking a healthcare profession as well as also investing in our area’s future!
