Health Closure: President's Day 2/17

All AST Health facilities will be closed on Monday, Feb. 17th, 2020 in observance of President's Day. PlusCare Clinic will be OPEN during this holiday closure from 9AM to 5PM, accepting the last patient at 4:30PM. Please call in your Rx refills before the holiday. Health Delay Opening 2/6/2020

The AST Health System will be opening for normal business hours beginning at 10AM on Thursday, Feb. 6th, 2020. Please use your winter weather precautions when venturing out. 


Free Youth Summer Program Diabetes Prevention Training

Native Youth Prevention Diabetes (NYPD) and the Oklahoma Inter-tribal Diabetes Coalition (OIDC) along with AST Diabetes & Wellness, will be providing a training for Tribal youth summer programs to learn new diabetes prevention and wellness information you can present at your summer youth program.

College Fair hosted by Native Connections Grant

AST Health Native Connections Grant is hosting a College Fair on Friday, Feb. 21st at the Little Axe Health Center Conference Rooms from 9 AM to 5 PM. Drug Take Back Day-LAHC

Youth Shawl Making Class

This event is open to all youth, ages 12 to 24 ONLY. Parents/Guardians are welcome to stay and help your child. Our Native Connections Grant is hosting a shawl making class on Thursday, Feb. 13th beginning at 6 PM at the Little Axe Resource Center. Healthy Valentine's Day Cooking Demo

Love is in the air. Join us and learn how to prepare a healthy Valentine' Day meal & dessert for your loved one. This event will take place on Thursday, Feb. 13th at 2PM in the LAHC Diabetes Kitchen. January Cooking Demo

Other providers choose not to accept patients with primarily soonercare, and its almost unwelcoming.  At the Little Axe Clinic, I don't experience that.  The services are excellent and patients are treated with the highest regard.

The goal of the project is to increase Moderate Intensity Physical Activity (MIPA) by employees of the Absentee Shawnee Tribal Health Clinics in Little Axe and Shawnee during work hours. With approval from upper management and a current policy in place, the Employee Steering Committee will enhance policy and access to physical activity opportunities to increase utilization of work site MIPA policy.
