For Week 4 we are collaborating with the Tribal Opioid Response Grant for a free and virtual class on Thursday, June 17th at 6:00 PM CST via GoToMeeting. In this class you will learn how to make a ribbon medicine wheel facilitated by John Soap, LPC (Absentee Shawnee)!

 

The Native Connections & SASP Grants are hosting a summer long “Culture is Prevention” series featuring new cultural outreach events and activities each week! For Week 3 we are collaborating with the Tribal Opioid Response Grant for a free and virtual class on Thursday, June 10th at 6:00 PM CST via GoToMeeting. In this class you will learn how to make a beaded wristlet facilitated by our very own Native Connections Grant Coordinator, Angela Gonzalez!

 

Native Youth Preventing Diabetes (NYPD) will be hosting a 2021 Virtual NYPD Camp. Camp may look a little different again this year but we are still working on improving the health of our Native Youth with a week-long education series! We will be discussing diabetes prevention, nutrition education, physical activity, COVID-19 information from a provider in Oklahoma working with our youth and much more.

The Native Connections & SASP Grants are hosting a summer long “Culture is Prevention” series featuring new cultural outreach events each week! The second week’s event will be a free and virtual class on Thursday, June 3rd at 7:00 PM CST via GoToMeeting. In this class you will learn how to make a beaded medallion facilitated by Choctaw & Cheyenne and Arapaho artist, Asa Samuels.
