ASTHS 6th Annual Health Fair

This is always a fun and exciting time for AST Health! Join us for a day aimed at giving you the tools to stay healthy. The Health Fair will be on Friday, July 12th from 1 pm to 4 pm at the Little Axe Health Center.

Upcoming Event: Youth Fishing Clinic 6/8

The Absentee Shawnee Tribe's Native Connections grant will be hosting a free youth fishing clinic on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Lake Thunderbird's Clear Bay area.  Poles and bait will be provided on the day of the event, children under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult.  For more infomration or to sign up for the event, please contact Margo at 405.701.7995

Beaded Earrings Class 5/21

The AST Cultural Preservation Department is hosting a beading class. Participants will learn how to make beaded earrings. Event wil take place on Friday, May 21st at the AST Resource Center in Little Axe, from 5:30pm to 8:30pm. Reserve your spot by calling Cultural Preservation at 405.275.4030.

The monthly health board meeting will be held Tuesday, April 16, 2019, beginning at 8:30 A.M. at the Little Axe Health Center's Conference Rooms A & B, 15951 Little Axe Drive, Norman OK.  Meeting is open to the public.

Diabetes Cooking Demonstation 4/11

Need breakfast ideas?  Reserve your spot today for the free Diabetes and Wellness healthy breakfast cooking demonstration set for Thursday, April 11th at 2:00 P.M.   It will be held at the Little Axe Health Center in the Diabetes and Wellness demonstration kitchen.  Samples and free recipe cards included.  Space is very limited. MyDNA Family Movie Night 6/22

IndigeNerd Native Arts Festival & Comic Con 6/30

Native Connections-Strength of Tradition Project's Guest Author

The Absentee Shawnee Tribe will be holding a Run-Off Election on Saturday, June 16, 2018 from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.  Polling sites are the AST Resource Center at 1970 156th Avenue NE, Norman, OK  and the other is at the Shawnee tribal complex at the AST police department, 2025 S. Gordon Cooper Drive, Shawnee, OK.

Native Connections-Strength of Tradition Project's Poster Contest

The Native Connections' Strength of Tradition Project is sponsoring a poster contest for ages 12-17 and 18-24.  The theme for the contest is, "what does it mean to be Native American"?  Poster board will be provided and can be picked up at the Shawnee or Little Axe Behavioral Health departments.  Contestants may use any medium for design but please no glitter.

Red Cross Blood Drive 6/11

White Buffalo Wellbriety Group Meeting-Every Thursday

1st Wednesday of the Month 6/6

The first Wednesday of every month, all AST Health facilities close from noon to 5 PM for trainings, departmental meetings and administrative tasks.  Both PlusCare and Shawnee Clinic Same Day/Extended Hours re-open from 5 PM to 9 PM with the last patient accepted at 8:30 PM.

Memorial Day Observance 5/28

The 2018 AST Diabetes & Wellness Junior Olympics will be hosted at the AST Resource Center, 1970 156th Ave NE, Norman, OK 73026, on Saturday, May 19th beginning at 9:00 AM.  Age brackets are 5-6, 7-9, 10-12 and 13-14.  Events to be held will be 50-yard dash, softball throw, free throw shooting and more.  To register or for more information, please call Buster Bread at 405.364.7298.  Sponsored by the AST Diabetes & Wellness Program.
