The AST Cultural Preservation Department is hosting a traditional can shaking class and workshop! This event will take place on Saturday, June 22nd from 10am to 1pm at the AST Health Multipurpose Bldg. Space is limited! Register with Culutral Preservation by calling 405.275.4030.
The AST Diabetes & Wellness Program, the Native American Caregiver grant and MyDNA are teaming up to present the 2019 Youth and Senior Team Games. This event will be taken place on Friday, May 31st beginning at 9am at the AST Resource Center. For more info contact Deidre Yarbrough 405.701.7190 
Due to the inclement weather, the Absentee Shawnee Tribal Health System, Same Day Clinic, PlusCare and Pharmacies are now CLOSED. The ASTHS encourages all patients to please stay safe and weather aware.  
ASTHS administrative half-day is Wednesday,May 1, 2019 (first Wednesday of the month) and all AST Health facilities are closed from noon to 5:00 PM for trainings, departmental meetings and administrative tasks. Both the PlusCare and Shawnee Same Day Clinics will re-open at 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, accepting the last patient at 8:30 PM.

The AST Easter Egg Hunt for tribal children has been rescheduled for Saturday, April 20th following the AST General Council meeting at 2:00 P.M at the tribal complex.
Native Youth Preventing Diabetes (NYPD) will be holding its annual free healthy habits camp (ages 8-12) June 10-14, 2019 at Camp Takatoka in Choteau, OK.  Youth activites will be swimming, fishing, archery, basketball, canoeing and more.  Sign-ups are currently taking place until May 24th.  If interested, please contact Shea at 405.701.7977 in Diabetes.  AST preference will be exercised. 
ASTHS will be closed for Good Friday on Friday, April 19, 2019.  However, the PlusCare Clinic will be open to see walk-in patients from 9:00 A.M. till 5:00 P.M. accepting the last patient at 4:30 P.M.  PlusCare is located 15702 East Sate Hwy 9, Norman, OK.  Phone number is 405.447.0477.  No appointment is necessary and this service is for non-emergent medical needs for those who are ages 2 years and up. 
The Absentee Shawnee Tribe is hosting a free tax preparation for AST tribal citizens, widows/widowers of AST tribal citizens and employees, who meet the low-to moderate maximum income threshold of $55,000, for tax year 2018.  The location is at the Shawnee Clinic's Multi-purpose building, 2029 South Gordon Cooper Drive, every Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  Please bring all tax documents, photo identification for each adult, social security cards for all intended to be listed on forms, 1099's, W-2's, 1099-R's, medical and dental expenses, the previous year's taxes and receipts for any charitable donations.
Absentee Shawnee Tribe will be hosting its annual auction of surplus equipment on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Thunderbird Casino, 15700 East State Hwy 9, Norman, OK.  Auction will begin at 10:00 A.M.
