October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Spend an evening painting and learn about the importance of breast health and cancer awareness for both women and men. Participants must pre-register to attend. Session is limited to 50 participants. This event will take place on Monday, October 14th from 6pm to 9pm at the Resource Center in Little Axe. It's that time of year again. At Little Axe Health Center, we're helping out with free dental and vision screenings, and free sports physicals for all kids under the age of 18. The event is open to ALL RESIDENTS of the Little Axe community and surrounding areas. Enjoy refreshments and goody bags for attendees (supplies are limited). The Absentee Shawnee Tribe's Native Connections grant will be hosting a free youth fishing clinic on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Lake Thunderbird's Clear Bay area. Poles and bait will be provided on the day of the event, children under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult. The semi-annual Absentee Shawnee General Council has been slated for Saturday, April 20, 2019 beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the ASTHS-Shawnee Clinic's Multi-purpose building at 2029 South Gordon Cooper Drive, Shawnee, OK. This tribal business meeting is for enrolled tribal citizens ages 18 and up.
The Absentee Shawnee Tribe will be hosting its annual Easter egg hunt for tribal citizens on Saturday, April 13, 2019, from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the AST complex, 2025 South Gordon Cooper Drive, Shawnee, OK. Lunch is to be provided.
