The Absentee Shawnee Tribe will be hosting an Easter Egg Hunt for tribal (AST) members of all ages.  The event date is March 24, 2018 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the tribal complex, 2025 South Gordon Cooper Drive, Shawnee, OK.  Please have your CDIB on hand on this day and lunch will be provided.

The AST Caregiver Program will be hosting a special evening honoring Native Elders and Caregivers. The event will be held Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at the Shawnee Clinic Multi-purpose Building from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.  The invitation is extended  Native Elders who are ages 55 and over plus one guest of their choosing.  It is recommended to come in your Sunday best or traditional attire if you would like to partake in the professional photo session offered to attending Elders.  Dinner and a program will follow with special guest speaker Mashell Sourjohn of AARP.  RSVP is required by Februar

The Oklahoma Blood Institute, in partnership with the ASTHS Public Health Nursing Department, will be sponsoring a blood drive Monday, January 29, 2018.  OBI will be setting up their bloodmobile near the AST Shawnee Clinic from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM.  To schedule an appointment for your donation, please call Ms. Chelsea Cope at 405.878.5850 or you can visit the OBI website and schedule through their "Find a Blood Drive" link.  Photo ID is required.

On Friday, September 22, 2017, the Absentee Shawnee Tribal Health System will be hosting a Continuing Medical Education Conference for medical professional staffers.  Due to our health professional staff's attendance , the clinics will be unavailable to see patients from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM; however, the drive-thru pharmacies at both Little Axe Health Center and Shawnee Clinic will be open to dispense patient refills. PlusCare and Shawnee Clinic Extended Hours will open at 5:00 PM and remain open until 9:00 PM to receive walk-ins needing acute care.

It is that time of year again and we want to help you with free dental and vision screenings as well as sports physicals for your child!   Visit our PlusCare Clinic, 15702 East State Highway, Norman, OK, on Thursday, August 10, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.  No appointment required and this is free to all youth ages 18 and younger.   We will have healthy snacks to sample, free popcorn, free Kona Ice and free MyDNA backpacks (limited supply) and goody bag.

The Absentee Shawnee Diabetes and Wellness Program will be hosting its annual Junior Olympics (for grades 1 to 5) on Saturday, June 10, 2017.  The event will be held at the Absentee Shawnee Resource Center, 1970 156th Avenue NE, Norman, Oklahoma.  Youth events will begin at 9:00 A.M.  To register or if you have additional questions, please contact Buster Bread at 405.364.7298

Turn in your unused or expired medication(s) for safe disposal at the Absentee Shawnee Tribal Police Department on April 28, 2017, from 11 AM to 3 PM.  This is a partnership sponsored by the MyDNA (My Drug-Free Native America) Program/Partnership for Success.  Also, there will be free medication lock boxes - making them available to protect your children, your family and the environment.  For more information, please call 405.701.7993.

AST Health Day for AST members is to be held on Friday, April 28, 2017 from 8 am to 5 pm. Appointments preferred but walk-ins are welcomed.  Please use CODE: ASTHEALTHDAY at registration for:  acute medical care at Shawnee Clinic Same-Day & PlusCare Clinic, dental at Little Axe Health Center's Dental Department and for vision at the Optometry Department at the PlusCare Clinic building.  These services are not in lieu of your regular, more comprehensive medical, dental or vision appointments but to offer additional access for our AST members.
